Take the Easyway to be free

Allen Carr was a chain-smoker who used to smoke 100 cigarettes a day until, after many failed attempts, he managed to quit in 1983. It was at this time that he developed his uniquely successful method. He realised that he had discovered what all smokers dream of; an easy way to get free!

The 6-hour seminar that he developed was first launched in his home in London, England, and now it is available in cities across the UK, and in over 50 countries worldwide. From the USA to Ukraine, from Austria to Australia and from Mexico to Mauritius. The worldwide Head Office remains in London, England.

The beauty of Allen Carr’s Easyway method is that it can be applied to any addiction or issue and Allen Carr and his team undertake to apply the method to as many other problems as possible. The method as applied to alcohol was one of the first and has been incredibly successful. So much so that for the seminars we provide the same money back guarantee that has been offered at our quit smoking centers for more than 30 years It is estimated that over 30 million people have successfully used Allen Carr’s Easyway method.

Can I still socialise / enjoy life / go to the pub with my friends when I quit?

Absolutely. When you leave a seminar you are free from the tricks that alcohol plays on the brain and you will not want to drink again. This means you are free to socialise with drinkers even while they drink and not feel the desire to join them. We know that’s hard to believe – but take our word for it – whether you’re surrounded by drinkers – you’ll be a happy non-drinker and won’t be tempted to drink. Even better – you won’t turn into one of those awful “reformed drinkers” – someone who quits drinking and subsequently hassles and harangues their drinking friends. Your friends, colleagues, and family will be amazed how easily you’ll cope with life as a happy non-drinker and you won’t feel like you’re missing out on anything once you quit.

Which program is best for me: the on-demand service, a seminar, or a book?

The seminar is the original Allen Carr program and boasts the highest evidence based success rate of 90%*The success rate of the method is over 90% based on 3 month money-back guarantee provided at Allen Carr's Easyway centers worldwide (for smoking cessation, alcohol, and drugs) and independent scientific studies indicate that even after 12 months the quit smoking success rate for the method remains over 50%. This is unprecedented in the field of addiction. ‘Long-term success of short smoking-cessation seminars supported by occupational health care', H. Moshammer, M. Neuberger. Addictive Behaviors (2007). 'Smoking cessation at the workplace: 1 year success of short seminars' H.P Hutter, H. Moshammer, M.Neuberger. Internal Archives of Occupational Environmental Health (2005). Please note that at some centers back-up sessions may take place on weekdays only. Please check with your local center. Promotions may not include the Money Back Guarantee.. It is the most powerful way of accessing Allen Carr’s Easyway method. The one-off 6 hour quit drinking seminar is all it takes for most drinkers to quit drinking, happily and easily.

Back up seminars are available (free of charge) for the few that require them and the seminar includes a full money back guarantee*Full money back guarantee - if within three months from the date of your first session you are still drinking and decide not to quit your fee will be refunded in full. You can take this program in a group seminar of up to 20 people, a private one-to-one seminar at one of our centers, a private one-to-one seminar at your home or a private online one-to-one seminar via a video link.

Our on-demand program allows you to quit when and where you want. It is a complete quit drinking program via a video on-demand service. Once you start viewing you will have unlimited access to all parts for 15 days. It is not a seminar, neither is it a recording of one, but a standalone program in its own right. Unlike our center seminars you will not be able to speak directly with an Allen Carr’s Easyway facilitator.

The book, audiobooks and apps allow you to go through the method at your own pace.

The seminars are by far the most effective way of accessing Allen Carr’s Easyway method – hence we are able to offer the unique money back guarantee.

How successful is Allen Carr’s Easyway method?

The success rate after an Allen Carr’s Easyway to Quit Drinking seminar based on the three-month money-back guarantee is over 90 per cent.

Independent scientific studies published in peer review journals indicate that even after 12 months the quit smoking success rate remains over 51% and 53% after 3 years per Addictive Behaviours in October 2006 and Long-term success of short smoking-cessation seminars supported by occupational health care’, H. Moshammer, M. Neuberger. Addictive Behaviors (2007) Success Rate 51.4% after 3 years and Smoking cessation at the workplace: 1 year success of short seminars; H.P Hutter, H. Moshammer, M.Neuberger. Internal Archives of Occupational Environmental Health (2005) 40% (worse case) 55% (best estimate). We are currently undertaking further clinical trials to confirm the success rate of Allen Carr’s Easyway method.

How does the Allen Carr’s Easyway method work?

You have seen from the success rate that Allen Carr’s Easyway to Quit Drinking method is the most successful drinking cessation therapy available today, and is quite unlike anything else because:

You can quit drinking easily in one day.

Withdrawal symptoms are reduced to the extent that they’re virtually imperceptible and therefore not a problem.

This is the only method that truly treats and eliminates the mental addiction – eradicating that “but I enjoy drinking and miss it” feeling – so you do not need willpower.

It is completely natural: no need for pills, alcohol patches, gums or e-drinks so the therapy has no side-effects and no ongoing costs.

To sum it up, the biggest advantage of this method is that you are going to quit drinking easily, without pain or any sense of loss – and permanently.

If you quit drinking using Allen Carr’s Easyway method:

  • You will not be tense or nervous;
  • You will enjoy social occasions more;
  • You will be able to overcome stress more easily;
  • You will be able to concentrate better;
  • You will not be tormented by a desire to drink – even occasionally;
  • The quitting process will be quick, easy, and actually enjoyable.

I am a strong-willed person in all other areas of my life but when it comes to quitting drinking, I am useless. Why?

It is a common misconception that it takes willpower to quit drinking, and that belief alone can make it difficult to quit. But does it really take willpower to quit, or is it a shift of perspective that is really needed?

You only need willpower not to do something that you actually want to do. If you don’t want to do something, it doesn’t take willpower not to do it. The difficulty that many experience is because even though they want to quit, they still want to drink. They want to drink because they believe that it gives them some kind of pleasure or crutch.

Allen Carr’s Easyway shows drinkers how their desire to drink is based on a trick  that alcohol played on their brain when they were starting out as drinkers. We can teach you how to correct your perspective with respect to drinking in a way that leaves you with no desire to drink whatsoever. And with no desire to drink, it doesn’t take willpower to quit. Join the millions who have quit drinking using this simple, drug-free approach.

I’m under a lot of stress at the moment, should I wait?

You may believe that drinking relieves stress or helps you cope with anxiety. Anyone who believed this would have a desire to drink in such situations and that desire to drink would make it difficult to quit. But does drinking really relieve stress, or is there something else going on?

Well, if drinking relieved stress you could reasonably expect drinkers to be able to cope with stress better than non-drinkers and this just isn’t the case. In fact, research indicates that drinkers are substantially more stressed and suffer far higher levels of anxiety than non-drinkers.

Allen Carr’s Easyway helps you understand the trick that alcohol plays on the brain. This trick cons the drinker’s brain into seeing the drink as a stress reliever when in fact it is a stress creator. We can completely remove your desire to drink in a stressful situation, and with no desire to drink, it doesn’t take willpower to quit.

What about the terrible withdrawal pangs from alcohol?

You may believe that alcohol withdrawal is difficult and unpleasant, and this belief would create a tremendous fear of quitting for anyone, but is withdrawal really that bad?

The reality is that drinkers go into withdrawal whenever they finish a drink. It is an illusion that there is physical withdrawal pain from the drug itself. We are never badly addicted to the chemical itself.

Perhaps you feel that you have to suffer a few days of withdrawal to get free.

So let’s look at the facts. It varies according to a person’s size, constitution and degree of tolerance, but alcohol leaves the body at an average rate of one unit per hour. A unit is a glass of wine, half a pint of beer or a single measure of spirits. So even if you drink very heavily it can’t possibly take more than a couple of days for every trace of alcohol to leave the body. Most drinkers can go a few days without a drink with no real discomfort – particularly if they know they can have one again soon. If however they attempt to give up forever using willpower they can get into a terrible state in a matter of hours.

In other words, if they still believe alcohol is a crutch and a pleasure that they must resist for the rest of their lives, it creates an awful tug-of-war in their mind: on the one hand they want to drink, while on the other they know that if they do drink it will destroy them. We don’t dispute that mental stress can create powerful physical symptoms – sweating and shaking, just as a child that has been deprived of its toy will exhibit similar pronounced physical symptoms that in themselves have no real physical cause. The cause is mental: the child is focussing on what it can’t have, to the exclusion of everything else.

Of course if the parent gives in to the child and lets it have its toy, those symptoms will disappear in an instant.

So if the drinker gives in to their craving, the sweats and the shakes start to subside with the first sip – long before the drug has had time to take effect.

In fact you don’t even have to wait for the first sip: the discomfort starts to subside on the way to the pub! They don’t disappear when the person takes a drink; they disappear when they decide to take a drink.

Think about it – the blind panic the alcoholic feels at last orders cannot possibly be due to physical withdrawal from alcohol, because they’re full of the stuff.

It’s the drinker’s mind that craves alcohol, not their body. The belief that alcohol provides some kind of pleasure or crutch is an illusion.

Are we saying no one ever goes through any discomfort as a result of alcohol withdrawal? No we’re not, and if you do experience any discomfort you should go and see your doctor. What we are saying is that most of what people mistake for the physical withdrawal is in fact caused by the mind. It is extremely rare for anyone to actually suffer purely as a result of physical withdrawal of alcohol. We’ve seen thousands of extremely heavy drinkers quit without going through any real pain. Quite the reverse: once people finally get it clear that they’re not making any sacrifice, they’re delighted to be free.

Some people do go through a little discomfort – perhaps becoming a little jittery or having a few sweats for a couple of days. So what? They’ll be the happiest days of your life. You have a horrific disease and you’ll have found the cure. The agony that you would inflict upon yourself by remaining an alcohol addict would be a million times worse. Imagine you told someone with cancer there was a permanent cure, but they might have the sweats and the shakes for a few days. How do you think they would respond?

What about delirium tremens (DTs)?

Do you actually know someone who has had the DTs?’ Really? Cris Hay – who helped Allen Carr apply the method to alcohol – worked out that in 5 years at AA he met about 30,000 recovering /ex-alcoholics. Guess how many mentioned the DTs? Just ONE! We’re not saying no one ever goes through the DTs – we’re saying it is very, very rare. If you find yourself in any serious discomfort – just go and see your doctor. If you are concerned about the physical effects of abruptly quitting drinking then you should consult your GP or physician before using the method.

To overcome your fear of withdrawal, you need the facts, not the fiction. Get the facts about alcohol withdrawal (trust us, you’ll be pleasantly surprised) and quit easily with Allen Carr’s Easyway.

What if the program I choose doesn’t work?

The success rate for our seminars is staggeringly high, over 90% based on our 3 month money back guarantee and independent scientific studies published in peer review journals indicate that even after 12 months the success rate the method remains over 50%.

As well as telephone support after the seminar – we also provide two free of charge back up seminars for the few that require them – these are provided as part of the money-back guarantee. If you don’t quit drinking after completing the program your fee is refunded in full.

The seminars are effective whether you have previously used any other Allen Carr’s Easyway products (such as our on demand program, books or apps). Whether you quit for a short period or failed to quit entirely the centers seminars will work for you – hence you still get the assurance of the money back guarantee.

Millions of people have successfully quit by using Allen Carr’s Easyway and the centers continue to be the most powerful and effective way of receiving the method – hence our ability and willingness to offer our money-back guarantee.

There is a money-back guarantee. Quit drinking or your money back.

The center seminars are effective whether you have read any of Allen Carr’s books or used any other Allen Carr’s Easyway products in the past or not. Even if you failed to quit by using the method in another form, the seminar will work for you.

You can ask questions throughout the live seminar. And you’ll get a real, live, straight answer from someone who has themselves used Allen Carr’s Easyway method to quit drinking and has received comprehensive training to become a qualified Allen Carr’s Easyway Senior Facilitator.

You’ll be shown a strategy to help you break through your fears and easily deal with anything that may previously have led to temptation. This is done using powerful psychology aimed at the conscious mind, reinforced at the end of the seminar by light relaxation.

You get to share your experience (if you wish) with those of other participants, often realising you are not the only one with your particular fears and worries.

Although you will be given everything you need in one seminar to become a happy non-drinker, if you should need support after you leave us, free back-up seminars and telephone support is available.

What happens during a seminar?

The seminar lasts around 6 hours, during which the facilitator will help you to understand exactly what you do and why you do it as a drinker. You may be surprised by much of what you hear! We will cover the psychological addiction in detail and will show you how to get rid of it.

We will clear up the misconceptions that keep all drinkers in mental captivity and put an end to mental addiction.

This is the most important aspect of the drinking cessation process because without this element you can only quit with great difficulty and suffering. The success rates for all other methods are so low exactly because they ignore the mental aspects of the addiction. They ignore the fact that a drinker thinks they enjoy drinking.

I have read the book and I quit easily. Yet at some point I started drinking again. I’ve read the book again, but it doesn’t seem to have the same effect. Is it worth coming?

YES. The good news is that the method did work for you. The bad news is that at some point you got overconfident or casual about alcohol and drinking. The chances are you thought you’d have ‘just one’ or forgot why you wanted to quit drinking in the first place or mistakenly reached for a drink at a time of crisis and stress. In these circumstances it can be hard for the book to work its ‘magic’ a second time. The seminar will set you free – and more importantly – help you stay free this time.

The seminar can help because you can ask questions as they come to mind. And you’ll get a real, live, straight answer from someone who has themselves used Allen Carr’s Easyway method and has received comprehensive training to become a qualified Allen Carr’s Easyway Senior Facilitator.

You’ll be shown a strategy to help you break through your fears and easily deal with anything that may previously have led to temptation. This is done using powerful psychology aimed at the conscious mind, reinforced at the end of the seminar by light relaxation.

There is also the money back guarantee so you have nothing to lose!

What aids do you use and recommend after the seminar?

The fabulous news is that you don’t need any aids after the seminar. The seminar is designed to set you free without any need for any aids, substitutes, or any other gimmicks afterwards. We provide you with some clear instructions as you leave the seminar and if you follow them you’ll never drink again. The seminar has no side-effects and so there are no ongoing costs (physical or financial) at all.

How many people are there in a seminar?

There are up to 20 people in a center seminar (unless you book a private 1-2-1 seminar).

What if I really don’t want to go to a group seminar?

We offer private 1-2-1 seminars at some of our centers or at you home. There are also the private 1-2-1 online seminars which are identical to the center seminars but presented via live video conference direct to you in your own home.
